Memorandum on the Paris Climate Accords

To: Donald Trump, President of the United States From: Colman Lydon, Seceretary of State Date: May 11th, 2018 Re: Paris Climate Accords Introduction: As the threat of global change continues to rise, countries around the world have been trying to find out ways in which to best combat and mitigate both climate change itself and the effects of it. One of the big global attempts have been the Paris Climate Accords. This agreement was started towards the end of 2015. Allies and other large superpowers of the world like the EU and China have signed the agreement, with a large support of other countries around the world. This brings up the fact that the United States has left the agreement, and what it means for our climate change policies. Evidence: One would be hard pressed to find evidence that does not support climate change. Scientific bodies like the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the American Chemical Society have both issued statemen

Memorandum on Nuclear Development in Iran

To: Donald Trump, President of the United States From: Adam Steber, Secretary of State Date: May 5, 2018 Introduction The nuclear agreement with Iran (from here on referred to as the "Iran deal") signed in 2015 is meant to limit nuclear proliferation in the Middle East. By signing this agreement, Iran agrees to limit its uranium enrichment capabilities to 3.67%, well below the 90% required to develop a nuclear weapon. They also agree to international inspections to ensure that they are not enriching more uranium than is allowed by the treaty. In exchange, the United States lifts . There are reasons to oppose our involvement in the deal, to mistrust the Iranians' motives, or to renegotiate the deal. Unless Iran violates it, however, it is not prudent at this moment to back out of the deal when trying to make a simultaneous agreement with North Korea. Evidence When making any sort of deal, one must not extend a hand of peace so far that they forget history. Iran

Memorandum on the Effectiveness of the Paris Climate Accords

To: Donald Trump, President of the United States From: Adam Steber, Secretary of State Date: April 25, 2018 Re: The Effectiveness of the Paris Climate Accords Introduction The Paris Climate Agreement is an historic agreement which was proposed in 2015, and brought into effect in 2016. The United States originally ratified this treaty under President Obama, though you, Mr. President, have announced your intention to withdraw from the agreement, which would go into effect by November 2020. This would make us only one of three nations, alongside Nicaragua and Syria, to not be part of the agreement, as well as the only developed nation. There is no purpose for the United States to abide at all by the agreement, while leaving the agreement would spare us a great many long-term political, economic, and environmental drawbacks. The United States has a $3 billion obligation to the Green Fund, in which they must give that money to developing nations so that they can invest it in cleane

Memorandum Regarding Paris Climate Agreement

Memorandum Regarding Paris Climate Agreement To: Donald Trump, President of the United States From: Nora McQuilkin, Secretary of State Date: 26 April 2018 Re: Withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement Introduction             Climate change is a global issue, and all nations must be committed to reducing carbon emissions as soon as possible. Without the Paris Climate Accords, emissions will continue to increase resulting in rising sea levels, more severe storms, droughts and food shortages. Nearly every country in the world signed onto this agreement, with the exception of the United States promising to back out in November 2020, which will be detrimental to the efforts of those devoted to the agreement. Considering the U.S. is responsible for one fourth of the world’s total emissions, it is the responsibility of our nation to be a team player remaining part of the agreement while primarily focusing our efforts nationally. Memorandum on the Paris Climate Accord

Memorandum on the Paris Climate Accord  To: Donald Trump, President of the United States From: Michael Herlihy, Secretary of State Date: April 28, 2018     Re: Paris Climate Accord  Introduction: The Paris Climate Accord was a historical agreement that was made in 2015 and signed into effect in 2016. This agreement was to combat climate control around the world. This Accord was historical as 195 countries have signed it into place. In 2017, Mr. President you announced the United States’ intention to withdraw from this agreement. The United States while negotiating was one of the main countries to be a part of this agreement. Although we are not able to pull out right away and will be able to do so at the earliest in November of 2019. I strongly encourage you, Mr. President, to reconsider. Leaving this agreement only shows that we do not want to work towards protecting our environment. If we as a country want to be respected by others than we need to be able to stic

Memorandum on The Iran Nuclear Deal

Memorandum on The Iran Nuclear Deal To: Donald Trump, President of the United States From: Michael Herlihy, Secretary of State Date: April 22, 2018     Re: Iran Nuclear Deal Introduction: The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action was agreed upon in 2015 by the P5 +1. Mr. President, you have throughout your campaign and presidency have talked about pulling out of this agreement. As your Secretary of State, I would highly recommend to not leave this agreement. This deal has been approved by UK, Russia, France, China, Germany, and the United States. Over 90 other countries have also endorsed the agreement but leaving would only cause more harm for our own national interests.  The Middle East has been a problem for the United States due to our involvement there. Leaving the deal would cause massive diplomatic problems for us as well. This would show the international community that we do not stick by our deals that we have made. This also gives leverage to China and Russi

Memorandum on the Iran Nuclear Deal

To: Donald Trump, President of the United States From: Colman Lydon, Secratry of State Date: April 22nd, 2018 RE: Iran Nuclear Deal Introduction: The Iran Nuclear was made during the previous Administration. With that, it received large amounts of support from some of the United States closest allies. This deal included several different clauses, which involved how much enriched uranium they were allowed to have, exporting stockpiles, would have them be the subject of inspections, and put them on a five year arms embargo. In less than a month you may choose to leave the deal. In this, I will outline some of the ramifications for this and strongly urge you to place the United States back into the deal.   Evidence: Iran has tried to maintain its end of the deal. There have been inspection reports from members of the United Nations that have said that they are complying with their end of the deal. By removing ourselves from the deal, it might show that we do not care if
